Dengue Fever

 

Mode of transmission: the disease transmitted trough biting of the mosquito called (Eidis Egypti) that feed in the human blood. The disease cannot be transmitted from person to person directly without mosquito. The mosquito becomes active in the early morning and before sunset. When the mosquito bite infected person, it become infected after 3 days and then forever.

Treatment:

-       Supportive and symptomatic treatment.

-       Early medical consultation to prevent the complication. 

Prevention:

  -      No vaccine for fever.

  -      Be away from the place full of mosquito.

-      Well covering for storage of water.

-       Remove any collection of water.

-       Cover and close the widow carefully.

Symptoms:  

-       Incubation period from 3-15 days.

-       High – grade or intermittent fever.

-       Joint and muscle pain.

-       Generalized body ache.

-       Skin rashes.

-       Headache, congestion of the eyes, loss of appetite and vomiting.

-       Depression.

-       Bradycardia.

In severe cases bleeding under the skin, epistaxis, GIT bleeding and this is called

(hemorrhagic fever).
